Privacy Policy

Melingu is an iPhone app for learning English vocabulary. It does not require an account, and its lessons, word search, quizzes, speech, and saved progress work without an internet connection. This policy describes the current version of the app.
Information kept on your iPhone
Your selected language, completed journeys, saved words, review schedule, quiz progress, daily goal, and reminder preference are stored on your device. We do not operate a learning account or upload this progress to a Melingu server. Removing the app removes this local data unless iOS preserves it in a device backup.
Analytics
When your iPhone has an internet connection, Melingu sends app usage events to Mixpanel so we can understand which features are used and improve the app. These events include actions such as opening the app, starting and completing a journey, using review and listening quizzes, saving a word, and changing a preference. Mixpanel uses an anonymous device identifier and may receive basic app and device information needed to process the events. We do not send the text of words or sentences, your name, or an email address as analytics event properties. We do not use IP addresses for location enrichment.
Mixpanel's privacy policy is available at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy. Analytics delivery requires a network connection; learning features do not.
Speech and reminders
Pronunciation uses the iPhone's speech service. Melingu does not record your voice or send word audio to a Melingu server. Optional reminders are scheduled locally by iOS after you grant notification permission; Melingu does not request a push token.
What we do not collect
The current app does not require a login, process purchases, use precise location, display ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. It does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
Your choices and contact
You can turn off reminders in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings. You can remove locally stored learning data by deleting the app. For questions or requests about analytics data, email [email protected].
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version.
